Through its grant program, The Albert & Ethel Herzstein Charitable Foundation supports non-profit and other organizations that promote education, seek to enrich the human spirit and work to improve the quality of life for others. Preference is given to groups and projects that receive little or no government support.
These annual reports for The Herzstein Foundation represent a three-year, branded campaign. Each report is intended to symbolize the interconnection of humankind. The rectangular shape evokes flags, which suggest the Foundation’s assistance to multiple cultures, while the pictorial strips depicts initiatives the Foundation supports.
Challenge: In addition to showcasing the grants made during the year, The Foundation’s annual report is intended to convey the spirit and vision of businessman, entrepreneur and philanthropist Albert Herzstein and his wife, Ethel. The Foundation chooses a single theme that is repeated during a three-year cycle.
Solution: Because the annual report theme is branded over three years, it is important to be able to distinguish each year’s book while preserving the overall graphic theme. During this cycle, that was accomplished through simple yet striking color and pictorial content changes.
